Leadership Job Descriptions
Presidents
Check in with Ms. O’Connor frequently about upcoming events. Keep track of everything. Manage dates, Trunk or Treat, West/Central Float, Festivals, & creating group chats, holding people accountable each week/meeting. Takes attendance in choirs daily. Checks in with tardy/absent people via text after each class period. Text the people who were absent about what we did in class. Runs the Band- DATA/ANNOUNCEMENTS ONLY (nothing funny)
Vice President
Manage Banquet?? (especially decorations, senior gifts, senior speeches). Librarian. Family Groups? Reminds Mrs. O’Connor to have part checks (either in Google Classroom or live in class).
Secretary
Take notes at each meeting AND PUT THEM IN GROUP CHAT. Remind (Nag) people of upcoming events/duties/obligations. Communicate with Classroom Manager about calendar. Takes Leadership attendance at meetings and warns (via email + copying Ms. O’Connor) people who have two absences per quarter that they have reached their absence limit. Manages lettering forms. Runs the remind/Band/GroupMe
Outreach & Community Building (with ties to social media & party planning)
Coordinate attending GWHS Band & Orchestra concerts, GWHS Theatre shows, Middle School & Elementary concerts. Also heads up recruitment and brainstorming new ideas.
Birthday Committee
- Beginning of the year: Write all the student birthdays onto the birthday wall. Create a Birthday wall
- Each week: put lollipops with "Happy Birthday" messages in to the mailboxes of the upcoming birthday
- Each day: Remind Ms. O’Connor of student and teacher birthdays
Odysseus Rep
- Sporadically throughout the year - remind students of upcoming events. Help with T-shirt and dresses. Check attire before concerts.
- Each day: mingle with everyone as they come into Odysseus - let Ms. O’Connor know if there are any problems.
Mental Health Team & Party Planning
- Throughout the year: Plan parties (Ice Cream Social, Winter Party), manage Happy Notes (which includes reminding Ms. O’Connor to give class time for these!)
- At meetings: Bring up students of concern - encourage students to reach out to those people via Happy Notes or text
- Every day: Mingle with choir members, touch base with students who are struggling, message absent students to say we missed them.
- Works with Environment Manager on how to make the choir room as welcoming as possible.
Social Media/Historian
- Run social media. This includes reminders, sign ups, concert advertisements, polls. Create end of year Video for Banquet/concert?? (which includes Senior/baby pictures to honor seniors) as well as pics and videos from the year.
- Take pics for social media when on Pegasus Choir-only trips.

Post a funny choir meme on Mondays (Meme Monday) and a Fun Choir Facts on Thursday!

Be in contact with TV class people to get snippets on Greeley West Broadcast and to advertise our concerts in advance. (set at reminder!)

Make posters for our concert at least 1 week before concert.
Outreach
Make signs/cards/posters to bring to Orchestra, Band, and MS/ES feeder choir concerts. (Work with VPs on this)
Librarian
Number, distribute, Collect and sort music. Nag people who are missing music (VPs and reps help). Go through folders in mailboxes to find music. Put into music library and spreadsheet.
When there is no new music, join happy notes team!
Classroom & Environment Manager
Works to make the choir room as welcoming as possible. Visits "baby choirs" frequently to encourage auditioning for a select choir. Works with Party Planner. Make sure all folders are put away (not laying on risers), make sure we have tissues, cough drops, hand sanitizer out. Make sure that posters are up to date and hung well. Update calendars each month. Makes sure that our classroom is healthy and clean!! Reminds Ms. O’Connor to do Hot Seats on Thursdays!
