Admissions and Access Policy
Greeley West High School is a candidate school* for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Career-related Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy-a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Greeley West High School believes is important to our students.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org
Embracing Diversity-District 6 recognizes the uniqueness of all cultures, languages, and communities. As a district, we understand the increasing cultural and linguistic diversity of our community. We see all classrooms as multicultural, and we work towards respecting, valuing and celebrating our own students’ unique strengths in creating unbiased classroom communities.
IB Admission and Access Policy for IB Programmes
Brentwood Middle School recognizes all students in grades 6–8 as MYP students and requires no application for students to access the MYP curriculum.
Greeley West recognizes all students in grades 9–10 as MYP students and requires no application for access to the MYP curriculum. Students may elect to take Pre-DP courses based on their interests and future goals. During sophomore year registration, students may choose to enroll in individual DP courses, pursue the full IB Diploma Programme (DP), or express interest in the IB Career-related Programme (CP). Access to both the DP and CP does not require an application. The DP pathway is open to all students in good academic and behavioral standing who are prepared to engage in the program requirements. Students wanting to access the CP Pathway would need to ensure they have met the requirements of all pre-requisite classes and are enrolled in pathway-specific classes to complete their CTE certification portion on the CP.
All students in good academic and behavioral standing are eligible to enroll in the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or the IB Career-related Programme (CP), based on their interests and future goals. We believe that the CP, like the DP, should be inclusive and accessible to a diverse range of learners who are prepared to engage with its academic and career-related components.
