Congratulations to D6 educator Aaron Bensinger, better known as Coach B, for being inducted into the Tri-State Golden Gloves Boxing Hall of Fame at the beginning of April!

Prior to becoming a PE teacher at Greeley West High School, Coach B had a successful amateur boxing career:

  • 6-time Regional Golden Gloves Champion
  • 3-time U.S. National Championship bronze medalist
  • Ranked top 5 amateur boxer in the U.S. from 2002-2004
  • 2004 Western Olympic Trials bronze medalist
  • All-Army MWAP champion
  • Army Veteran

Growing up, Coach B's family struggled with drug addition. Boxing became a healthy outlet where he could release frustration, keep away from drugs, learn discipline, and look up to positive role models. Despite not graduating from high school, Coach B persevered and obtained a GED, then a bachelor's degree in Sociology, then a master's degree in education.

Coach B's story of struggle and triumph inspired him to become a teacher where he could build positive relationships with students and motivate students to strive for greater achievements in their own lives.

Congratulations, Coach B!
