Emma Nottis earned first place in the Young Escoffier Competition for the third time, bringing her total scholarship earnings from the event to $10,000.

In addition, her second-place finish at the State FCCLA Conference increased her cumulative scholarship total to $15,500.  Emma has been accepted to the Boulder campus of the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and will begin her studies in August.

Taven Castillega also competed in this year’s Young Escoffier Competitions, earning $7,500 in scholarship funding. As a junior, he will have the opportunity to compete again during his senior year and continue building his scholarship awards. He plans to attend the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in 2027.

The Young Escoffier High School Virtual Culinary Scholarship National Competition, hosted annually by the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, invites high school juniors and seniors to prepare and present original dishes through submitted photography. The competition aims to inspire and support aspiring chefs by providing hands-on experience and significant financial assistance toward culinary education.
