What are your goals for this season?
"My goals for this season is to place finals during state and do well throughout all our competitions."
Who are your role models in your sport or life, and how have they influenced you?
A role model in my sport was my captain my freshman year. It was always astonishing how she would do her best in stunting and performing. Seeing her accomplish so much due to her efforts was very inspiring!"
How do you manage the balance between academics and athletics? What strategies have been most effective for you?
"I balance my academics and athletics because I try to finish my schoolwork in class or I try to do my homework during my AVID weekly study groups. If I don't have time, then during practice breaks, I'll work on assignments."
How do you handle pressure and maintain mental resilience during high-stakes competition?
"I handle pressure and maintain resilience during competition by thinking about my team. I think about how much I have to do my best, for not only myself, but my teammates. That I need to work as hard as they are!"
What are your career or college plans after you graduate high school?
"After I graduate from high school, I plan to attend a four year university and study criminology to become a police officer or some sort of agent."
What advice do you have for younger athletes who want to join your sport?
"My biggest advice is to not allow mistakes to ruin your future performance. This is because there are a lot of difficult skills. But, to be able to get better, you have to be open and willing to fail."
Do you have any funny pre-game rituals or superstitions that you stick to?
"I like to dress nicely the day before."
If you were to participate in a talent show unrelated to your sport, what would your act be?
"My act would be performing an instrumental piece on the French horn."
