Social Media Policy

The GWHS Website is managed by Sasha Cohoon.  All teachers are expected to have an updated staff profile page on the GWHS website including contact information and links to include, but not limited to, their syllabus and current unit information.

The use of district information technology to access social media for school-related purposes requires pre-approval in accordance with this policy. A staff member who desires to access social media for school-related purposes shall submit a proposal and request for approval to his or her building principal/supervisor. Proposals for the school-related use of social media should be appropriate to the students’ ages, understanding, and range of knowledge. The decision of the building principal/supervisor will be in writing and shall be final. The building principal/supervisor may withdraw his or her approval at any time for any reason. The principal or his/her designee should also be made an administrator on any social media account created by a staff member for school-related purposes.
