Dear Parents,

As we approach the holiday season there are several
things we at Greeley West High School would like to celebrate from
this Fall that should be celebrated by our students, staff, and
administration.

Our boys Cross Country won the state title in the 4A division. Congratulations to them as well as their coaches Sue Carter and Dave Franklin for their extraordinary efforts in securing their first state title since 1965.

Our football team continues their trend of excellence by going a perfect 10-0 in the
regular season. We wish them tremendous success during the state playoffs.

The 2009 edition of the West Honors Breakfast was a tremendous success with over 600 parents and students in attendance. Special kudos goes out to the ladies in the office,Mary Mitchell and Terri Lindschmidt, who put the entire program together.

During the 1st 6 week grading period, 642 students made the honor roll. Approximately 44% of the students in the building had grades of 3.0 and above. Congratulations to the teachers for motivating the students to reach high standards of
excellence.

The Spartan Poetry Contest gave out over 150 awards District wide to students in over a dozen schools. Over 130 people came to the program which was double the size of last year. All 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were in attendance.

Greeley West attendance has improved slightly this year with an average of 91% through October. These are but a few of the wonderful things going on at Greeley West High School. Our mission at Greeley West is simple: "To Become the Best High School in the State of Colorado!"

Sincerely, Bryan Wright, Principal
