Dear Parents
As we head into the home stretch of the 2008-2009 school year, we at West have been pleased by the recent results gained by our students and staff.

- Our boy’s basketball team were the 4A State Academic Champions, with a cumulative 3.75 GPA! This was after finishing in the elite 8 in the state playoffs.
- Amanda Knight competed for the state forensics title in poetry.
- Our boys wrestling team finished 9th in state, with Joey Martinez becoming the state champion in his weight class.
- Several West students represented us with distinction by finishing 4th or above at the 14th annual UNC History Day held on March 7, 2009
- The musical “Cats” performed by our drama and band departments, was an artistic triumph that sold out every seat in the auditorium on several nights.
- 99% of our freshman and 98.5% of our sophomores took the CSAP exams in March 2009.

The list goes on and on, and is growing everyday, Greeley West continues to positively impact it’s community and city. The efforts put forth by the people here are ongoing. I am proud to call myself a Spartan. I would like to think that more people are feeling a tremendous amount of pride in this school as well.
